PS5 restocking at Walmart today: How to get the console

For those planning to beat the heat by staying home and gaming, Walmart once again offers an opportunity to score the still-elusive PS5. The big box retailer will have the standard $499 PlayStation 5 in stock today (June 2) at 3 p.m. ET, and as with previous Walmart restocks, you must be a Walmart+ member to buy it.

Essentially Walmart’s answer to Amazon Prime, Walmart+ is a premium shopping service that lets you get exclusive deals (like a PS5 drop) and perks like free shipping from Walmart.com and free shipping from your local Walmart store . The service costs $12.95 per month or $98 per year—although there is a free trial, you must be a paid member to participate in this PS5 restock.

The hottest gaming consoles right now

Walmart will have the ever-elusive PlayStation 5 in stock today at 3 p.m. ET, exclusively for Walmart+ members.

This PS5 deal is part of the Walmart+ weekend event from June 2nd to June 5th. As with Amazon Prime Day, this special sale will feature a slew of exclusive discounts on everything from homewares to electronics.

If you do manage to get your hands on a PlayStation 5 today, now is an especially good time to own one. Sony’s revamped PlayStation Plus subscription service, which has been updated to a premium tier this month, will give users instant access to a large game library, such as Xbox Game Pass.

PlayStation Plus Extra (from $14.99 per month) will give you over 400 downloadable PS5 and PS4 games, including heavy hitters like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and God of War, while PlayStation Plus Premium (from $17.99 per month) throws in addition to hundreds of older PlayStation classics. Even if you’re not buying a PS5 anytime soon, you can enjoy many of these games on PS4 before you upgrade.

As always, we expect this PS5 to drop pretty quickly, so there are a few tips you should keep in mind to give yourself the best possible shooting experience. Make sure your Walmart+ membership is set up before restocking time and you’ve stored a payment option so you’re not scrambling to use your credit card at the last minute. Also, don’t give up too soon – while the console may be out of stock right away, it’s likely because the site has come under fire. A few minutes of patiently refreshing the page may work in your favor.

If you don’t make it this time, we’ll keep track of the latest PS5 restock update to help you deal with the next update. Good luck!
