Panaji: In another shocking incident, a fitness trainer allegedly kidnapped and strangled a professor. After the alleged murder, the trainer reportedly drove with the body and dumped it in the jungle.
Police suspect it was a case of unrequited love and they have identified the accused as Gaurav Bidre (36). Meanwhile, the victim was identified as Gauri Achari (35), Indian Express report.
Police said Bidre and Achari both taught at government universities and that Achari had hired him as a personal fitness trainer and knew each other closely. Although they became friends, police claim that Achari told Bidre last month that she no longer wanted to contact him.

On June 23, Bidre approached Achari as she parked her car near her Corlim residence. She then strangled Achari in the car. The police report said he carried Achari’s body to his car and dumped it from her block, then he drove about 2km from the house and dumped the body in the forest near the Kadamba Bypass , Indian Express report.
The victim’s mother, who was not at the home on Thursday, reported the incident to police. During questioning, Bidre admitted to murdering Achari, police said.
Bead was charged with murder and destruction of evidence.
Bidre was brought before a magistrate on Saturday and held in police custody for 10 days, according to Police Inspector Dinesh Gadekar of the Old Goa Police Station. He further mentioned that a post-mortem has been carried out and Achari’s body has been sent to her family for final ceremonies.
