Rapper Jay-Z sits on the court as the Golden State Warriors host the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Finals on Thursday.
Jay-Z has played in several games during the 2022 NBA playoffs, so it’s no surprise to see him in Game 1 of the Finals.
He was part owner of the New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets) for many years.
The Warriors reached the Finals for the sixth time in the past eight seasons, something no other team in the league has done.
They’ve also won three championships in that span, so they’re in a position to win a fourth NBA championship in just eight years.
As for the Celtics, they’ve been serious contenders for the better part of the past six years (four times to the Eastern Conference finals), but this is their first Finals appearance since they had Paul Pierce in the 2010 season .
